Neurodivergence-affirming
We start from a different premise.
Parenta is built for parents of neurodivergent kids. That word — neurodivergent — is not decoration. It changes what the AI does and does not say.
Our premise.
Autism, ADHD, sensory differences, and developmental differences are not deficits to be eliminated. They are ways of being in the world that come with real strengths and real challenges. Our job is to help you support your child as they actually are — not to help you make them act "normal."
How we talk.
We use identity-first language by default ("autistic child") because that is the strong preference in the autistic community, while respecting parents who prefer person-first language. We talk about regulation, co-regulation, and sensory profiles — not about "behaviours" as if they were problems to be extinguished.
What Parenta will never do.
- Frame your child's autism, ADHD, or differences as a tragedy.
- Suggest "extinction" responses to autistic distress (e.g. ignoring meltdowns, withholding stimming).
- Recommend compliance-first behaviour modification as a primary tool.
- Tell you to "toughen up" your child or treat them as the adversary.
- Pathologise stimming, special interests, or scripting.
What Parenta will always do.
- Trust your read of your own child.
- Centre your child's felt safety and connection with you.
- Offer parent-side adjustments before child-side targets.
- Acknowledge the real exhaustion of parenting in a world not built for your kid.
